Marie Miyashiro
Workplace consultant, author, speaker and president of Elucity Network, Inc., an empathy-based consulting and training firm, from Tucson, Arizona.
Marie consults, writes and speaks on topics related to human connections and collaboration in the workplace and organizations. Her book, The Empathy Factor–Your Competitive Advantage for Personal, Team, and Business Success, is published by PuddleDancer Press and builds on Nonviolent Communication (NVC), current organizational research and her consulting work of over 26 years, focused on organization development, strategic planning and communication training. Elucity’s client list in the United States and internationally include Fortune 500 companies, international nonprofits and industry associations, small to mid-sized businesses, and government agencies. In 2007, she co-authored a chapter with Marshall Rosenberg, Ph.D., developer of NVC, “Integrated Clarity – Energizing How We Talk and What We Talk About in Organizations.” It appears in the second edition of The Change Handbook – The Definitive Resource for Today’s Best Methods for Engaging Whole Systems. Her work has received over two dozen awards for communication and partnership programs.
Marie was one of the presenters at the Making Collaboration Real Conference in San Francisco, California in March 2011, hosted by BayNVC. She was the keynote speaker for the University of Arizona’s College of Fine Arts Opening Convocation and will be a keynote speaker for the 2012 Association of Partners for Public Lands Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.
