Session: Helping Your Child Develop a Personal Faith
Knowing and learning ways to gain sufficient inner strength as children will prepare them to meet the challenges of life. This course focuses on helping you lead your children toward developing a loving relationship with a higher source. Working with examples from participants' lives, and using a mix of structured and experiential exercises, you will learn how to take advantage of everyday teachable moments to illustrate spiritual principles. And, you will learn simple ways to tell your children what you believe, and to show them how to make faith in a higher source part of everyday life.
About Dr. Hema Pokharna
Hema Pokharna, PhD is a Certified Trainer of Nonviolent Communication, Coach and Consultant with more than 20 years of experience in communication trainings. Based in Chicago, Hema leads workshops and trainings in Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and offers mediation, meeting facilitation, coaching and training for organizations throughout the United States and internationally. She has served on the Board of Council of the Parliament of World Religions and Council of Religious Leaders in Metropolitan Chicago and Play for Peace. Hema is inspired by the contribution that nonviolence can make to personal and world peace, and values sharing these skills with leaders and activists.
