Full Description
Are you eager to translate your vision of a world where everyone’s needs matter into a tangible reality? Do you long to discover your unique role in responding to the challenges of our times?
In this 12-month program, Miki Kashtan leverages more than 30 years of passion and experience about creating change into a practical framework designed to support you in taking concrete steps toward the world of your dreams. As a participant in this program you have an opportunity to form substantial relationships with peers as you work together to address common barriers to engaging fully in working for change. This course is designed for a wide range of change agents, including:
- Social activists who wish to integrate NVC into their approach
- Community leaders working to empower community members
- Parents who wish to align school practices with the needs of children and teachers
- Executives working to build a more collaborative workplace culture
- And many more!
Regardless of the change you seek, this program can deepen your understanding of how sustainable change occurs, and the role NVC can play in creating systems that attend to people’s need at all levels.
This program includes 4 components:
- Monthly 2-Hour Teleclass — Miki’s classes use a lively, interactive, inquiry-based format to introduce the concepts for the month, and immediate practice applying the concepts to participants’ real-life situations. Participants are asked to complete readings and practice prior to each Teleclass.
- Projects and Project Groups — To get the most from this course, participants are invited to select a real-world project to which they can immediately apply their learning. To support this goal, participants can form an optional 3-4 person group for mutual support, including holding group calls for mutual support and to enhance movement toward their specific project goals.
- Weekly Empathy Buddy Calls — After being partnered with an Empathy Buddy for the duration of the course, you are asked to meet weekly for a one-hour empathy call to practice your skills through role plays and mutual empathic support.
- Individual Work and Support From Miki — You can further augment the course to meet your unique learning needs through additional individual work (i.e. reflection journals, readings, specific assignments and insights that arise in conversation with your Project Group or Empathy Buddy). Participants can also receive direct support from Miki — you are invited to send questions to Miki, who will respond to the whole group for everyone’s benefit.
