Session 1 – Introduction to Experiments with Truth

This session introduces the overall framework of this course. We plan to focus in particular on the following themes:

• What exactly is an experiment with truth and why do we use this name? 
• What has NVC got to do with the Gandhian tradition of nonviolence? 
• Why do we lean so much on understanding the historical and current significance of patriarchy as the mindset of scarcity, separation, and powerlessness? 
• Why do we give so much attention to considerations of power, privilege, and liberation for all? 
• What is the difference between living NVC, applying NVC, and sharing NVC?
